Getting a taxi in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat

L'Hospitalet is Catalonia's second city by population and sits directly between Barcelona and the airport. That geography is the whole story: the terminals are about 8 km away, closer than anywhere in Barcelona itself, including Sants. An airport transfer from here should cost noticeably less than one from the Eixample, and on this site it does, because the price is worked out from the actual distance.

Two destinations dominate. Fira Gran Via, the huge exhibition centre on the Barcelona border, empties several thousand people onto the street at once when a congress closes — during Mobile World Congress in particular, book ahead or expect to queue. A trip starting at the Fira carries a small official venue supplement, set by the metropolitan authority and shown in your price.

The other is Bellvitge, one of the largest hospitals in the region. Pick-ups there are routine and I know which entrance is which — the main door on Feixa Llarga is not the same as the outpatient entrance, and turning up at the wrong one with someone who has just been discharged is nobody's idea of a good afternoon.
